On Monday, April 2, Marquis Duran Turner, 28, of Duarte gang member was convicted of nine counts of attempted murder, one count of conspiracy to commit murder and one count of shooting at an occupied vehicle. Gang injunctions will be a part of the sentencing process.
A separate jury convicted Anthony Deon Edwards, 26, of the same charges and special allegations under the same case on March 28, according to Santiago.
The two gunmen trekked from Duarte to Pasadena and spotted a group of people between 2:30am and 3:00am on the 800 block of Garfield Avenue in Pasadena on Jan. 16, 2017. The two opened fire with a handgun and a rifle on seven people and hit an innocent bystander in the hand.
Edwards and Turner are two of eight Duarte gang members arrested for Pasadena shootings between December 2016 and January 2017 during a gang war.
Turner is scheduled for a May 8 sentencing and Edwards will be sentenced April 26 at Alhambra Superior Court.
