There was speculation after the police-involved shooting of 36-year-old Daniel Warren on Friday in the 1500 block of Glen, close to Howard in Pasadena was a suicide, but the Los Angeles County Coroner has confirmed that Warren was the victim of a homicide.
Police arrived on the scene after receiving calls from neighbors about a man with a gun in the area. Warren, a resident of the neighborhood was confronted by police, Warren was wearing a bulletproof vest and was in possession of a gun, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities say when confronted, Warren yelled at the officers and pointed his gun at them. Officers then fired on Warren and shot him under the armpit and in the thigh. Being shot under the armpit would lead one to think that he was in the vulnerable position of surrender when he was struck.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating the shooting.
