From a Disagreement to Sisterhood Sundays

"Together we can" -  Barack Obama

Who knew that one Facebook disagreement would lead to a celebration of Sisterhood? Special thanks for Nicole Comas, Jada, Brown and Tansy Johnson for deciding that enough is enough. They knew that it was time to unite, empower and uplift one another instead of constantly tearing each other down. Together they came up with a great idea to invite and gather women to a potluck-style picnic. They even asked each woman to bring framed pictures of themselves for the decoration of their beautiful faces. It was a day of fun-filled games, food, networking, and Sisterhood.

Guest Speaker Colyna Winbush, Author of It's not your fault. Spoke about the meaning of Sisterhood. She also spoke about how hurt people hurt people but healed people heal each other.

I spoke with Nicole and she mentioned that friends from the Pasadena community gladly donated things from their businesses. Otis Dancer from California Linen donated linens, Ron Crockett from Pasa/Alta donated a home decor basket, Nikko Taylor of StudioVusci and YL Hair Salon donated gift certificates.

This was originally planned to be a one-time event but the women stated that they would like to keep this ongoing. Even speaking of doing a Secret Santa gathering for Christmas 2018.
This is an amazing start to something that is well overdue in Pasadena. I'm looking forward to the next event.
